Berlin – September 7, 2026 -- Midea used IFA 2026 to showcase a new lineup of AI-driven home appliances under its "Simply Ideal" vision, alongside a freshly announced five-year partnership with FC Barcelona.
Midea's AI agent aims to simplify daily home tasks
The company's new SMART MASTER system anchors an AI-based home ecosystem, letting users interact with appliances in a more natural way. A companion Midea Robot extends that intelligence into physical tasks like cooking, cleaning, laundry and overall home management. A separate AI ECOMASTER tool coordinates connected devices and energy use, adapting to household habits over time.
Space-saving refrigerators and built-in kitchen tech headline the display
Midea's SPACE MASTER line increases usable storage in appliances like refrigerators without changing their external dimensions. The BUILT-IN series also includes the Milan-inspired Ispira collection, combining design with integrated cooking features.
New R290 refrigerant line cuts energy use in home cooling systems
Midea's R290 air conditioning series pairs advanced compressor and seal technology with a low-global-warming-potential refrigerant, delivering roughly 10% higher energy efficiency. The line includes the H-Pack and PortaSplit units, with PortaSplit set to adopt R290 refrigerant in 2027.
Kitchen and laundry appliances target efficiency and flexibility
The Visionary refrigerator series uses GlassVision technology and contactless lighting for better food visibility. InfiniteFit cooktops feature an ultra-thin design suited to European kitchens, while the OmniFlex function allows flexible placement of cookware. The PizzaPro built-in oven combines fast heating with an 81-liter cavity. The Tri-GreenApex dishwashing system handles washing, drying and storage while using about 50% less energy than required for Europe's top A energy class. In laundry, Midea's multi-drum family concept allows several separate wash cycles to run at once, and the OMNI series offers modular configurations for different household routines.
Matter connectivity and a Barcelona partnership take center stage
Tobin Richardson, CEO of the Connectivity Standards Alliance, appeared at Midea's booth to highlight the Matter smart-home standard and Midea's role in advancing interoperable appliance connectivity. Separately, Midea marked its new five-year partnership with FC Barcelona through an immersive stand experience. Club legend Carles Puyol made a special appearance, sharing reflections on leadership and teamwork from his playing career.
