80 Million Americans May Have Liver Disease — Take ALF's Free 1-Minute Risk Quiz

Fairfield, N.J. – October 01, 2026 -- An estimated 80 to 100 million Americans have liver disease, and many don't know it because early symptoms can be subtle. The American Liver Foundation (ALF) is marking October as National Liver Awareness Month and Liver Cancer Month with a slate of free tools, including a one-minute online risk quiz.

A free quiz flags liver disease and cancer risk in under a minute.

The quiz is available in English at thinkliverthinklife.org/quiz and in Spanish at thinkliverthinklife.org/prueba. ALF notes that hepatocellular carcinoma, the most common form of liver cancer, is one of the fastest-growing causes of cancer-related death in the U.S., with incidence rates more than tripling since 1980 and death rates doubling over the same period.

Timeshare Exit CEO Calls for Clearer Rules on Attorney Marketing Claims

Mesa, Arizona – October 01, 2026 -- Gordon Newton, founder and CEO of Newton Group, is pushing for tighter regulation of how timeshare exit companies advertise attorney involvement, arguing consumers often can't tell whether a lawyer actually represents them before they pay.

Newton says marketing terms like "attorney-backed" don't answer who the lawyer actually represents.

In an op-ed published Sept. 15 in The National Law Review, titled "Attorney Involvement Is Not Attorney Representation," Newton argues that phrases such as "attorney-led," "in-house attorneys" or "attorneys on retainer" may be accurate but still leave the central question unanswered: who is the client?

Tate McRae Launches Debut Fragrance TATE 01, Hits Ulta Oct. 16

New York – October 01, 2026 -- Pop star Tate McRae has launched her first signature fragrance, TATE 01, developed with Scent Beauty, Inc. and priced from $30 to $82 for sizes between 10ml and 100ml.

The scent blends bergamot with amber and sandalwood

Perfumers Adriana Medina and Antoine Maisondieu of Givaudan built TATE 01 around a top note of sparkling bergamot and clary sage, moving into white florals before settling into amber, tonka bean, sandalwood and soft woods. The formula is anchored by ISO E Super, a molecule designed to interact with individual skin chemistry so the scent shifts slightly from wearer to wearer.

McRae said she wears the fragrance during rehearsals, describing it as a layer that "warms up and moves with my body" rather than sitting on top of it.

SafeSport Marks Bullying Prevention Month With Tips for Parents, Coaches

Denver – October 01, 2026 -- The U.S. Center for SafeSport has released video clips, interview access, and practical guidance for parents and coaches to recognize and prevent bullying in youth sports, timed to Bullying Prevention Month in October.

Short video clips feature SafeSport's education chief addressing signs of bullying

The clips, available for download by accredited media, feature Monica Rivera, SafeSport's Vice President for Education & Research. Topics include spotting signs and symptoms of bullying, talking to kids about the issue, and steps to take if a parent suspects their child is the one engaging in bullying behavior.

"To truly prevent bullying, we need to recognize when a young person may be struggling and respond to those needs before it shows up as harmful behavior," Rivera said. She added that early intervention, accountability, and support can interrupt cycles of harm and create safer environments for athletes.
