The company has announced a special blimp-themed sidewall design for its Eagle racing tires, which will be featured on all NASCAR stock cars during NASCAR’s Official Throwback Weekend at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina.

Honoring a Century of Flight

The commemorative tire design showcases an image of Goodyear’s first branded blimp, “Pilgrim,” which first took to the skies in 1925. The sidewall also includes a banner highlighting the 100-year milestone. This special design will not only be seen on the track but also in the air. The Goodyear blimp providing aerial coverage for the event will be equipped with a set of anniversary-themed Goodyear Flight Radials.

A Double Anniversary Celebration

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – February 19, 2025 – SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Feb. 19, 2025 – Yokohama Tire has been named the official tire of the Mustang Cup, a new six-round race series sanctioned by USAC. The series debuts in April 2025 at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana.

The race-ready Ford Performance-engineered Mustang Dark Horse R will utilize Yokohama’s Advan A005 slicks or A006 wet racing tires. A unique aspect of the Mustang Cup is the optional two-driver format. Each race, presented as a doubleheader, will contribute to separate championships – the Miles Cup and Parnelli Cup – allowing two-driver teams to pursue distinct championships, or a single driver to compete in both.

Each Mustang Cup event will consist of two 15-minute qualifying sessions and two 40-minute races, with one qualifying session and one race dedicated to each championship.
