Renault Unveils Emblème: A Decarbonized Electric Vehicle Demonstrator

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – November 2, 2024 – SHERIDAN, WYOMING – NOVEMBER 02, 2024 - Renault has unveiled Emblème, a demo car that showcases Ampere's technologies for decarbonization in the automotive industry. Emblème is a family vehicle that emits 90% less greenhouse gases (CO₂e) over its entire life cycle than an equivalent vehicle produced today.

Emblème is based on specifications implementing the principles of eco-design. It features a 70% reduction in the carbon footprint of its components, 50% recycled materials, and almost all of the materials used can be recycled at the end of their life.

The vehicle is powered by a dual-energy electric powertrain that uses electricity and hydrogen, an optimal combination for low-carbon driving over both short and long distances.

Nissan e-POWER Vehicle Production Reaches 1.5 Million Milestone

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – November 2, 2024 – SHERIDAN, WYOMING – NOVEMBER 02, 2024 - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that cumulative global production of its e-POWER vehicles surpassed 1.5 million units as of the end of October.

e-POWER is a unique Nissan technology that uses a small gasoline engine and lithium-ion battery to power an electric motor. The electric motor alone drives the wheels, resulting in an electric-vehicle driving experience characterized by powerful acceleration and quietness.

Nissan launched e-POWER first in Japan in 2016 with the Note e-POWER. Availability of the innovative powertrain has since been expanded to the Kicks and X-Trail sport-utility vehicles and the Serena minivan.

In fiscal year 2023, 42.6% of Nissan vehicles sold in Japan were e-POWER.

In China, e-POWER became available in 2021 with the Sylphy e-POWER sedan, and it is now also available on the X-Trail SUV.

Global production declined 7.8% from a year earlier.

Production in Japan declined 13.4% from a year earlier.

Production outside Japan declined 6.4% from a year earlier.

Sales

Global sales declined 4.2% from a year earlier.

Sales including minivehicles in Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 4.5%.

Sales of registered vehicles in Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 2.5%.
