Championing Sustainability and Community Empowerment

The initiative, now in its fourth year, celebrates villages that are committed to preserving their cultural and natural heritage while promoting sustainable tourism practices. These villages showcase the power of tourism to drive economic growth, create jobs, and empower local communities.

"Tourism is a vital tool for inclusion, empowering rural communities to protect and value their rich cultural heritage while driving sustainable development," said UN Tourism Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili.

Renault Unveils Emblème: A Decarbonized Family Vehicle Demonstrating Ampere's Commitment to Sustainable Mobility

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – November 3, 2024 –  At the Mondial de l'Auto 2024, Renault introduced the Emblème demo car, a testament to Ampere's ecosystemic approach to decarbonization in the automotive industry.  This family vehicle, decarbonized "from head to toe," emits 90% less greenhouse gases (CO₂e) over its entire life cycle compared to an equivalent vehicle produced today.  Emblème builds upon the exploratory studies initiated with the Scénic Vision concept in 2022, pushing the boundaries of decarbonization while maintaining a spacious, comfortable, and high-tech design.    

Nissan's e-POWER Vehicle Production Surpasses 1.5 Million Milestone

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – November 3, 2024 – Nissan Motor Corporation proudly announced that the cumulative global production of its e-POWER vehicles surpassed 1.5 million units by the end of September.    

e-POWER, a unique technology developed by Nissan, uses a small-capacity gasoline engine and lithium-ion battery to power an electric motor.  This electric motor exclusively drives the wheels, creating an electric-vehicle driving experience characterized by powerful acceleration, responsiveness, and exceptional quietness.    

Nissan first introduced e-POWER in Japan in 2016 with the Note e-POWER.  The innovative powertrain has since expanded to include the Kicks and X-Trail sport-utility vehicles and the Serena minivan.  In fiscal year 2023, e-POWER vehicles accounted for 42.6% of Nissan's sales in Japan.
