Hamburg – September 08, 2026 -- NDR has launched the 16th edition of its annual charity campaign "Hand in Hand für Norddeutschland," this year devoted entirely to mental health among children and teenagers under the motto "MENTAL. STARK. FÜRS LEBEN."
The broadcaster is partnering with the six northern German state associations of the German Red Cross, chaired by the Hamburg chapter, alongside the nationwide Aktionsbündnis Seelische Gesundheit (ABSG). The ABSG alone coordinates more than 100 network partners across northern Germany focused on psychological wellbeing.
Citing figures from Germany's Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, NDR notes that roughly a fifth of all children and adolescents in the country are affected by a mental health condition. Anxiety disorders, ADHD, depression, and learning, eating or addiction disorders rank among the most common diagnoses.

Berlin – September 08, 2026 -- Ascentiz is showing off its H and K exoskeleton modules at IFA 2026, calling it the world's first modular exoskeleton platform for consumers.
The system centers on a wearable Exo-Belt that houses the battery, controller and algorithms. Using a MOLLE quick-release structure, wearers can attach the H module, the K module, or both at once, and swap between them by hand within seconds. Ascentiz-H supports hip movement for walking, climbing, running and faster movements, while Ascentiz-K offers Adaptive Knee Augmentation, providing dynamic knee support, active stabilization and load management on flat ground, stairs, and during ascents and descents. Both modules use what Ascentiz calls Adaptive Motion Intelligence to detect changing movement conditions and adjust support in real time within a user-selected mode.

Maysville, Ky. – September 08, 2026 -- Buyers eyeing a historic home should look past ornate moldings and original woodwork to inspect the roof, foundation, wiring, and plumbing before making an offer, according to real estate expert Debi Beiland of Limestone Properties, Inc. in Maysville, KY.
Beiland's insights appear in a new HelloNation article titled "What Buyers Should Check Before Buying a Historic Home." The piece notes that a property's age alone doesn't signal serious problems, but maintenance history and prior repairs can vary widely from house to house. A dedicated historic home inspection, the article says, gives buyers the clearest picture of a property's actual condition.
Houston – September 08, 2026 -- A Houston plastic surgeon is applying decades-old principles of classical sculpture to modern body-contouring procedures, arguing that anatomy and artistry must work together for safe, natural-looking results.
Emmanuel De La Cruz, MD, founder of De La Cruz Plastic Surgery and a double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, says his years studying classical portrait and figurative sculpture shape how he approaches liposuction and body contouring. "Sculpture changed the way I see the human body," De La Cruz said. "You begin seeing how every contour flows into the next."
Irvine – September 08, 2026 -- The new 2027 Kia Telluride has earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's highest honor, the 2026 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) designation. The award makes Telluride the fifth Kia model to receive the 2026 TSP+ rating in the U.S., joining the K4, EV9, Sorento and Sportage.
The institute strengthened its criteria this year to prioritize rear-seat passenger protection and improve crash-prevention performance. Updated protocols now require stricter rear-passenger safety in moderate overlap frontal crashes, along with tougher standards for pedestrian detection and high-speed vehicle-to-vehicle collision prevention.
