SHERIDAN, WYOMING – November 10, 2024 – Christopher Nelson, a service specialist at Baxter, has been inducted into the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) Driver Hall of Fame. Nelson, who is based in Earth City, Mo., has been with Baxter for 35 years and has a spotless safety record. He is one of only four drivers in the United States to receive this prestigious honor.

"Chris demonstrates daily what it truly means to Save and Sustain Lives," said Daniel Gentry, Baxter regional operations manager. "He has established valuable relationships with nurses, clinics and industry experts, and has amassed a wealth of knowledge that he gladly shares with colleagues and patients alike."

The NPTC Driver Hall of Fame recognizes drivers who have demonstrated a commitment to safety and service excellence throughout their careers. Nelson has logged more than one million miles without incident – the equivalent of driving two round trips to the moon!

In his role at Baxter, Nelson delivers dialysis solution to the homes of patients with kidney disease. He is responsible for delivering and unloading about 20,000 pounds of product each day. Over his career, he has delivered an estimated 44 million pounds of product.

"These individuals make our industry proud," said Tom Moore, executive vice president of NPTC. "Chris treats this not as a driving job, but as a calling . . . he delivers hope."

Nelson is also a primary trainer for other drivers on his team. He is known for his dedication to safety and his willingness to help others.

"I want to do a great job for the patients, for Baxter, and for myself," said Nelson.

Baxter has a long history of commitment to safety. The company has been recognized by the NPTC for its outstanding safety performance for the past 10 years. This year, Baxter was awarded first place in the Mixed Large Operations Fleet Safety Awards for the third consecutive year.

"Baxter's commitment to safety is evident in the performance of our drivers," said Gentry. "We are proud of Chris Nelson and all of our drivers who are committed to delivering our products safely and efficiently."
