Schott, a glass manufacturing specialist, presented their expertise in hermetic glass-to-metal seals, which offer superior biocompatibility and impermeability for implantable devices.
  • Brain-Computer Interfaces: The development of brain-computer interfaces, such as CorTec's Brain Interchange System, is opening up new possibilities for treating neurological disorders and improving brain function. This technology enables the exchange of information between the brain and external devices, paving the way for innovative therapies and applications.
  • Medical Polymers: Professor Vasiliki Giagka from the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM) highlighted the advancements in biocompatible polymers that are enabling the development of flexible, reliable, and safe neural implants.
