SHERIDAN, WYOMING – November 26, 2024 - The BHB (Handelsverband Heimwerken, Bauen und Garten e.V.), the leading trade association for DIY, building, and gardening in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, held its Annual General Meeting today in Bonn. The meeting saw the election of two new board members, marking a shift in leadership for the association.
New Faces on the Board
Jochen Ludwig, CCO and board member of OBI, and Frank Staffeld, member of the management board of hagebau, were elected to the BHB board. They replace outgoing members Franz-Peter Tepaß, who served as spokesperson for the past six years, and Torsten Kreft.
The BHB expressed its gratitude to Tepaß and Kreft for their long-standing commitment and contributions to the association. Tepaß, in particular, was recognized for his exceptional leadership and mediation skills during challenging times for the industry.
New Leadership Roles
The election also brought about changes in the leadership roles within the BHB board. René Haßfeld, CEO of toom Baumarkt, will take over as the new spokesperson, while Peter Abraham, Head of Retail at Eurobaustoff, will assume the role of CFO.
Susanne Jäger, member of the board of Hornbach Baumarkt AG, and Alexander Kremer, Managing Director of Kremer Garten-Center, will continue to serve on the BHB board.

The newly elected board members bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the BHB. Their leadership will be instrumental in guiding the association and its members through the evolving landscape of the DIY, building, and gardening industry.
