SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 23, 2024 - Slalom, an Italian company specializing in the production of sound-absorbing panels, is set to unveil its innovative "Living Lab" at ORGATEC 2024, a leading international trade fair for the modern working world.
The Living Lab, designed by Studiolatte, offers an immersive journey into the world of sustainable and natural materials that form the core of Slalom's sound-absorbing products.
"We are thrilled to participate in ORGATEC 2024, a true institution in the office world, capable of anticipating future trends," says architect Elettra de Pellegrin, founder of Slalom.
A Sensory Journey Through Sustainable Acoustics
The Slalom booth at ORGATEC transforms into a creative laboratory where raw materials integral to the manufacturing process take center stage.
The sensory journey unfolds through five distinct rooms, each with a unique color identity. Visitors are invited to engage directly with the textures and finishes of the wall panels.
A central table, reminiscent of conveyor belts found in factories and laboratories, runs through each room, playfully inviting visitors to explore the materials that bring Slalom's creations to life.
Doors serve as key architectural elements, separating and connecting the different environments. They play a crucial role in perspective, allowing visitors to appreciate the refined interplay of colors flowing through the rooms.
Innovative Products and Finishes
Among Slalom's offerings are Italian natural felt, PET plastic felt, and the new Woody, Bloom, and Bouclé finishes.
- Bloom: This sound-absorbing panel integrates bio-based solutions, blending regenerated plastic materials with linen and flower petals. Bloom is a winner of the HiP Awards, The Best of NeoCon 2024, and the May's FRAME Awards competition.
- Woody: This sound-absorbing wall integrates recycled plastic fibers and regenerated FSC wood using an innovative, patent-pending thermoforming technology. Woody is a winner of the 2024 Red Dot Award in the Design Concept category.
- Bouclé: This unique fabric is crafted from recycled plastic fibers from the sea, giving it a textured, natural appearance.
A 'Surprise Corner' and Innovative Lighting
The journey culminates in an intimate alcove, a "surprise corner" adorned with tailor-made panels showcasing surfaces inspired by architectural finishes, from tiles to ashlar.
This space is illuminated by the Silent Disco lamp, designed by architect Giuseppe Albera. The lamp, covered in an elegant blue avio sound-absorbing fabric, seems to float in space, enriching the visual and sensory experience.
