SHERIDAN, WYOMING – May 27, 2025 – Amperfied GmbH, a subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG), is electrifying the market with the debut of its new Amperfied Dynamic DC fast charging system, unveiled at Power2Drive 2025 in Munich. Designed specifically for the needs of charging hubs, logistics depots, and fleet operators, this next-generation solution blends modular technology with an innovative service model that focuses on one key outcome: maximum uptime.
Revolutionizing Charging with Availability-Based Service
Amperfied’s breakthrough doesn’t stop at hardware. Instead of customers buying just a product, the new model ensures they only pay when the infrastructure is up and running and actually delivering power to vehicles.
"Instead of buying pure hardware, our customers only pay when they can actually sell energy. This is how we create aligned interests. We are responsible for a functioning charging infrastructure. The operators only have to worry about the utilization of the charging park," explains Robin Karpp, Managing Director of Amperfied GmbH.
This model minimizes financial risk and lowers the initial investment, making DC charging more accessible to operators and scalable for future needs.
Compact Design, Big Performance
The Amperfied Dynamic DC system is highly modular and space-efficient, ideal for tight urban or logistics environments. Its central power unit dynamically distributes energy to up to six dispensers, each with two charge points, ensuring optimized system usage and minimized downtime.
Highlights include:
- Up to 12 charge points with 240 kW or 8 charge points with 480 kW charging capacity
- 15.6-inch touch display for intuitive use
- The CCS2 connector for wide compatibility—from cars to trucks
- A slim design that preserves valuable parking space
Smart Software and Predictive Maintenance
The technology is built on PIONIX BaseCamp, which runs on the open-source EVerest framework, ensuring future-proof compatibility and continuous improvement.
The integrated software enables:
- Predictive maintenance with early malfunction detection
- Proactive troubleshooting
- System updates for ongoing optimization
"Ensuring high throughput and availability is the key challenge for operators of charging infrastructure in charging parks, logistics or retail," explains Jürgen Otto, CEO of HEIDELBERG. "We are addressing precisely this need with a combination of the modular hardware of Amperfied Dynamic DC with dynamic power distribution, high scalability and space-saving design and a comprehensive, performance-oriented service offering, which is what HEIDELBERG can offer worldwide."
Meeting Surging Market Demand
EV adoption is accelerating fast. In 2024 alone, global sales of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles climbed to 17.1 million. For Germany, even more robust growth is expected—up to 75% for battery electric vehicles in 2025.
Modular DC charging systems are key to future infrastructure:
- Optimize space and costs
- Centralize power management
- Scale easily as demand grows
According to the Boston Consulting Group, such architecture is pivotal for commercial success in EV infrastructure. And Amperfied’s system is already designed with those efficiencies in mind.
Built for Trucks, Fleets, and the Future
With commercial electrification ramping up, high-performance charging is no longer optional. A PwC study predicts over 20% of global trucks and buses will be battery-powered by 2030.
Amperfied is prepared. With up to 480 kW charging capacity, CCS2 compatibility, and full-service support, the Dynamic DC system is a future-proof solution for heavy-duty EV fleets and charging parks alike.
Where to See It and What’s Next
The Amperfied Dynamic DC made its official debut at the Power2Drive trade fair (May 7–9, 2025) in Munich, at booth C6.630. The product will launch in the DACH region in 2026, with broader European rollout to follow.
