SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 31, 2024 – BMW Motorrad is updating its superbike lineup for the 2025 motorcycle season with a range of technical and visual enhancements. The M 1000 RR, S 1000 RR, M 1000 R, and S 1000 R models will feature increased dynamism, expanded standard features, and Euro 5+ homologation of the engines.
BMW M 1000 RR: Enhanced Performance for the Racetrack
The new BMW M 1000 RR boasts a significant power increase of 4 kW (6 hp) to 160 kW (218 hp) due to an extensive package of measures. Optimized aerodynamics, achieved through a redesigned front fairing and the newly constructed M Winglets 3.0, contribute to faster lap times. The Flex Frame has been further developed, and the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) now includes the Slide Control function, thanks to steering angle sensor technology. The new M RR is offered in two versions: the base variant in Lightwhite uni and the M Competition in Blackstorm metallic.
BMW S 1000 RR: Refined for Track Use
The BMW S 1000 RR has been significantly refined, particularly for track use. The M short-stroke throttle enhances responsiveness, new winglets increase downforce, and a new front wheel cover with integrated brake ducts improves brake cooling. The standard features have been expanded to include Pro riding modes, "Race Pro" modes, Engine Brake and Hill Start Control Pro functions, five-level adjustable ABS in "Race Pro" modes, and the ABS setting "Slick." The Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) is also now standard. The new S 1000 RR is available in three color schemes: Blackstorm metallic, Bluestone metallic with matte graphic applications, and Lightwhite uni/M Motorsport in combination with the M package.
BMW M 1000 R: Dynamic Design and Enhanced Traction Control
The BMW M 1000 R features a more dynamic design with a new dual-flow LED headlight and the M logo in the air intake. The traction control DTC has been revised, derived from the RR models, and combined with the M short-stroke throttle, it offers noticeable improvement, especially in Race mode for track days. The new M 1000 R is available in Lightwhite uni/M Motorsport, White Aluminium metallic matt, and Blackstorm metallic/M Motorsport in the M Competition equipment variant.
BMW S 1000 R: Increased Power and Enhanced Features
The BMW S 1000 R now boasts a more powerful inline-four engine with 125 kW (170 hp) and a shorter final drive ratio for enhanced sprint performance. The optimized Shift Assistant Pro ensures smoother gear changes, and the M short-stroke throttle contributes to a more dynamic setup. The traction control DTC benefits from revisions made to the M 1000 R, and the new dual-flow LED headlight enhances its appearance. Expanded standard features include engine drag torque control (MSR), a short license plate holder, a USB-C charging socket, and the intelligent emergency call E-Call. The new S 1000 R is offered in Blackstorm metallic, Bluefire/Mugiallo Yellow, and Lightwhite uni/M Motorsport with the M package.
