SHERIDAN, WYOMING – May 24, 2025 – At the illustrious Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este by the serene shores of Lake Como, BMW Motorrad has turned heads with the unveiling of its electrifying new prototype: the BMW Motorrad Concept RR. Offering an exclusive preview of the future of BMW’s RR superbike series, this concept is a dream come true for motorcycle enthusiasts craving the thrill of motorsport-inspired engineering on everyday roads.
A First Glimpse into Tomorrow’s Superbike
BMW Motorrad has never offered such an early look at its next generation of RR superbikes. Drawing direct inspiration from the championship-winning M 1000 RR, the Concept RR reflects a passion for performance that borders on obsession.
“Never before has BMW Motorrad provided such an early glimpse into a future generation of the RR models. The BMW Motorrad Concept RR is a true masterpiece of our development team, both technically and in terms of design language,” said Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad.
He added, “It represents BMW Motorrad's leadership claim to offer the highest engineering level and maximum performance in this segment.”
Track-Born, Street-Ready Performance
The Concept RR is built around a water-cooled inline four-cylinder engine derived from BMW’s world champion FIM Superbike, delivering over 230 hp (169 kW). The transfer from racing pedigree to road functionality is more apparent than ever, giving riders an unparalleled sense of control and power.
Key performance highlights include:
- Racing-grade engine management systems
- Advanced traction control and engine braking
- Direct implementation of WorldSBK tech from the M 1000 RR
These features promise to deliver spine-tingling acceleration and refined handling whether you're carving through mountain roads or pushing the limits on a racetrack.
Cutting-Edge Design and Aerodynamics
BMW Motorrad has gone all-in on lightweight construction and precision aerodynamics. The Concept RR showcases innovative use of materials like carbon and aluminum throughout its structure, reinforcing both performance and agility.
The design principles are uncompromisingly sharp and efficient, featuring:
- A compact aerodynamic silhouette with reduced external attachments
- Winglets integrated into the fairing for enhanced downforce
- An illuminated RR logo underneath the sleek aluminum tail
These elements serve not just aesthetic value but also practical functionality by maximizing cornering speed, boosting stability, and minimizing air resistance.
Exclusive Style Meets Rider Comfort
No BMW launch is complete without a stylish nod to its lifestyle philosophy. Alongside the Concept RR, BMW Motorrad also introduced a limited-edition leather jacket: the Concept RR LTD. Only 50 of these will be made, handcrafted from fine calf Nappa leather in collaboration with the traditional Bavarian company MEINDL.
With motorsport flair and exceptional attention to detail, this jacket is designed for riders who demand elegance with their adrenaline. It’s a striking fusion of safety, comfort, and fashion—perfectly in line with BMW Motorrad’s dedication to stylish, functional gear for over 45 years.
Availability and What’s Next
While the Concept RR is not yet available for purchase, it sets the stage for future RR production models. The accompanying Concept RR LTD jacket will be available in a limited run of just 50 units, offering collectors and enthusiasts a rare chance to own a piece of superbike history.
As for what's next? Stay tuned—BMW Motorrad’s bold step into the future of performance motorcycles is just getting started.
