SHERIDAN, WYOMING – July 24, 2024 – Continental, a leading global tire manufacturer, has launched its groundbreaking CasingManager app (CMA), a revolutionary digital tool designed to simplify and streamline the tire casing management process for retailers and contribute to a more sustainable tire lifecycle. This innovation empowers retailers with seamless, real-time control over their tire casings, while supporting Continental’s broader ContiLifeCycle initiative aimed at maximizing tire reuse and extending their lifespan.

Simplifying Casing Management with Cutting-Edge Technology

The CasingManager app revolutionizes the way retailers manage tire casings. By utilizing a simple scan of the tire's serial number, the app automatically captures crucial details such as barcode number, size, and DOT number. This eliminates the need for manual data entry, saving valuable time and reducing the potential for errors. The app then intelligently assigns barcodes to subsequent casings, further streamlining the process.

Retailers can easily generate collection orders within the app, consolidating all daily orders for seamless transmission to the collection service provider. Real-time email alerts keep retailers informed of collection confirmations, ensuring transparency and efficient communication throughout the process. Furthermore, the app seamlessly integrates with the ContiCasingAccount, where retailers can view and manage credits for their returned casings.

Driving Sustainability through Tire Retreading

The CasingManager app is a key component of Continental's ContiLifeCycle initiative, which champions the concept of tire retreading as a sustainable solution. By promoting the reuse and extended life of tires, the ContiLifeCycle system helps reduce waste, conserve resources, and minimize the environmental impact of tire production.

Currently being piloted in Germany to support Continental's commercial vehicle tire retreading operations, the CasingManager app demonstrates the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the tire industry.
