
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – June 23, 2025 – Fans of motorsport and aviation alike were treated to an unforgettable experience at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, as the legendary Goodyear Blimp soared above Circuit de la Sarthe as part of its 100th anniversary tour.
A century after its first appearance, the Goodyear Blimp remains one of the most iconic sights in the skies, captivating generations with its presence at major sporting and cultural events. This year’s Le Mans race marked the sixth consecutive appearance of the airship at the world-renowned endurance event—adding a unique layer of excitement for fans on the ground and guests in the air.
A Century of Aerial Wonder
Goodyear’s journey with lighter-than-air aviation began in 1910, and the launch of its first blimp, Pilgrim, in 1925 marked the start of an enduring legacy. Today, four Zeppelin NT semi-rigid airships—three in the U.S. and one in Germany—carry forward the tradition of what has become one of the world’s most recognizable brand ambassadors.
As part of its centennial celebration, the Goodyear Blimp has already visited major events this year, including WEC races in Imola and Spa. The 24 Hours of Le Mans was a headline stop, showcasing Goodyear’s strong presence not only in the sky but also on the track.

The blimp offered VIP guests and invited spectators an exclusive aerial view of the race, elevating their experience to new heights—literally. While weather conditions always play a role, the schedule for Friday through Sunday was packed with planned flights to maximize fan enjoyment.

While the blimp soared overhead, Goodyear made a bold statement on the ground as well. As the exclusive tire supplier for both the LMGT3 and LMP2 categories, the brand’s racing technology was front and center throughout the endurance classic. This year’s event also celebrated the 45th anniversary of Goodyear Eagle, the company’s high-performance tire line that connects its racing heritage with everyday driving performance.
