BMW M4 GT3 EVO Clinches First IMSA Victory at Watkins Glen

BMW M4 GT3 EVO Clinches First IMSA Victory at Watkins Glen
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – September 23, 2025 – In a thrilling display of determination and teamwork, the BMW M4 GT3 EVO secured its first win in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the Six Hours of the Glen, with BMW M works drivers Dan Harper and Max Hesse triumphing in the #48 Paul Miller Racing car in the GTD PRO class.

This landmark victory marks the first time the BMW M4 GT3 EVO has topped the podium in IMSA competition, as well as Harper and Hesse’s first North American win—delivering a weekend of celebration for BMW fans.

A Rollercoaster Race for the BMW M4 GT3 EVO

Starting from second place in class, Harper and Hesse faced early challenges. Harper was handed a 60-second stop-and-go penalty for crossing the red pit-exit light after a pit stop, which dropped the #48 BMW M4 GT3 EVO to last place. Despite this setback, the team fought back, helped by numerous yellow flags and perfect pit strategies, ultimately taking the lead and sealing a memorable win.

Sharing his excitement, Dan Harper stated: "We kept a cool head in a hot race. Unfortunately, I made a mistake at the pit exit early on, which earned us the penalty. I’m very glad we were able to make up for it during the race. Max did the hard work in the middle of the race to bring us back to the front. The team had a perfect strategy and fantastic pit stops. I asked the team to let me drive the final stint to make up for my earlier mistake. Luckily, we managed to do that together, and we were able to celebrate our first win of the season. We’ve had good pace in almost every race so far, and now we’ve finally been rewarded with the right result. Hopefully, this is the start of a strong second half of the season."

Max Hesse highlighted the weekend’s highs and lows: "It was an incredibly good weekend for us at Watkins Glen. The team told us beforehand that they’ve often been strong here in the past, so we were really looking forward to it, but the race was anything but easy. With second place in qualifying by Dan and a good start, things initially went great, but then the rain came, and we got the 60-second penalty, which dropped us to last place. We were frustrated because we thought we had thrown away a top result but there were many yellow flags, and our car was very strong on restarts. I gradually worked my way back to first place, and Dan did an amazing job in the final stint. I’m very proud and happy for the team. Unfortunately, the #1 car had the penalty at the end. The team deserved a one-two finish. After five races, we are now third in the championship and have two podiums. Things are going well for us here in North America."

Mixed Emotions for BMW M Team RLL

While the GTD PRO class brought joy, the race was less kind to BMW M Team RLL in the GTP class. The #25 BMW M Hybrid V8, driven by Sheldon van der Linde and Marco Wittmann, retired after a crash. Meanwhile, the #24 BMW M Hybrid V8, driven by Philipp Eng and Dries Vanthoor, finished eighth after a challenging day.

Philipp Eng summed up the frustrations: "Unfortunately, it was a frustrating race. From the start of the weekend, we knew we were going into the race with difficult conditions compared to some competitors. We simply didn’t have the necessary pace. On top of that, we didn’t have a perfect race. Especially in the final stint, there might have been some opportunities through strategy, but we didn’t make the optimal decisions."

BMW Leadership Remains Upbeat

Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport, offered a candid reflection: "This was a race with mixed emotions for us at BMW M Motorsport. I am absolutely thrilled about the first victory of our BMW M4 GT3 EVO in the IMSA series! Paul Miller Racing has shown strong performances throughout the season and was often close to victory. Now it finally happened! Congratulations to Dan Harper and Max Hesse on their first win in North America! It’s unfortunate that the sister car and the #96 BMW M4 GT3 EVO from Turner Motorsport couldn’t make it to the podium despite also having strong races. Overall, our GT3 programme in the U.S. is in excellent shape. Our BMW M Hybrid V8 had to fight with blunt weapons at Watkins Glen. BMW M Team RLL and our drivers gave it their all, but unfortunately, we didn’t have the flawless race we needed to make the most of the circumstances. Now we are determined to return to our former strength at the next GTP class race in Road America."

BMW enthusiasts can catch the next chapter as the brand looks ahead to Road America, eager to build on this historic victory. Learn more at www.bmw-m.com/motorsport.

Eurobike Award 2025 Celebrates the Bright Future of Bicycles and Urban Mobility
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – September 23, 2025 – Even after more than 200 years of evolution, the humble bicycle continues to inspire groundbreaking ideas and sustainable lifestyle changes—as proven by the winners of the 2025 Eurobike Award.

This year’s prestigious awards spotlight 37 innovative products across ten categories, ranging from sleek e-bikes and smart accessories to futuristic mobility solutions. The official award ceremony will be held on June 25 at 5:30 p.m. during the Eurobike show in Frankfurt (Hall 8, Level 0, Yellow Stage).

A celebration of innovation on two wheels

From classic pedal bikes to high-tech mobility concepts, the 2025 Eurobike Awards honor the products that push boundaries and meet the demands of modern urban lifestyles. Judged by an international panel of experts, the entries were evaluated live at the Frankfurt trade fair center over two intensive days.

Criteria included:

  • Degree of innovation
  • Functionality and usability
  • Design and material quality
  • Sustainability and workmanship

As journalist and judge Pinar Pinzuti from Bikenomist put it, “I was really impressed by the number of products that we evaluated over the two days. More than 200 years of innovation on bicycle – you might think that it’s perfect now. But no. There’s still space for innovative solutions to improve cycling.”

From startups to sustainability heroes

The excitement is especially high for the Startup, Green, and Gold Awards—each representing the cutting edge of where bikes and eco-mobility are heading. Kerstin Riedmüller, project manager at Eurobike organizer fairnamic, emphasized how the awards reflect today’s dynamic landscape: “From bikes, via e-bikes to the latest mobility concepts. From components, via accessories to digital solutions. The Eurobike Award demonstrates the most innovative products in all areas of mobility requirements.”

Design meets lifestyle

Not only are the award-winning products functional—they’re stylish too. The submissions show how cycling gear and equipment are becoming integral to modern lifestyle choices.

“You see a strong lifestyle influence. Most of the products are thoroughly designed. We’re talking engineering meets design here in a strong way,” said Christian Zanzotti of Zanzotti Industrial Design, another member of the expert panel.

Mobility expert Marianne Weinreich, co-founder of the Cycling Embassy of Denmark, added an important perspective: “One of the most beautiful things about bicycles is how easy and accessible they are – and that everyone can use them.”

What to expect at Eurobike 2025

Eurobike 2025 promises to be an exciting event for both trade professionals and the general public. Held at Messe Frankfurt from June 25–29:

  • June 25–27: Trade-only days for industry insiders

“An industry-dedicated Global Bicycle Purchasing Index (GBPI) would have softened this problem,” organizers note, referring to the recent market turmoil. With this tool in place, businesses are better equipped to avoid overstocking or misjudging consumer demand.

Who Benefits from This Index?

Whether you're a rider waiting for the next innovation or a brand deciding what to produce, the GBPI is set to be a game-changer. It supports:

  • Company leaders at brands, OEMs, and component manufacturers
  • Large-scale retailers and distributors
  • Market analysts and consultants
  • Industry associations and stakeholders

By benchmarking across global regions and offering strategic foresight, the index helps businesses plan more effectively and adapt to shifts in the market — all based on real feedback from those directly involved in bicycle production and purchasing.

Stellantis Takes the Lead in EU Hybrid Car Sales for Q1 2025

Stellantis Takes the Lead in EU Hybrid Car Sales for Q1 2025
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – September 23, 2025 – European car buyers are choosing hybrid vehicles in growing numbers, and Stellantis is firmly in the driver’s seat. In the first quarter of 2025, the global automaker emerged as the leader in hybrid car sales across the EU30, highlighting its growing appeal to eco-conscious consumers seeking performance, variety, and innovation.

A Record-Breaking Quarter Across Europe

Stellantis achieved an impressive 17.3% market share in the total EU30 automotive market during Q1 2025—its best quarterly result since early 2024. This figure marks a steady climb from the company's 17% full-year share in 2024, signaling growing consumer trust and momentum.

What’s behind this success? Best-selling favorites like the FIAT Panda and the PEUGEOT 208, 2008, and 3008 played a major role. But Stellantis attributes its achievement to collective brand strength, as all brands under its umbrella contributed to the hybrid sales surge.

Dominance in Key EU Markets

Consumers in France, Italy, and Portugal continue to show overwhelming preference for Stellantis models:

  • France: Stellantis secured four of the top six positions in total vehicle sales, with the PEUGEOT 208 ranking number one.
  • Italy: FIAT Panda took the top spot as the most sold vehicle, with four Stellantis models in the top five overall.
  • March 2025 Standouts:
    • PEUGEOT 208: #2 in the B segment
    • Citroën C3: #4
    • Opel Corsa: #5
    • PEUGEOT 2008: climbed the podium in the B-SUV segment
    • PEUGEOT 3008: ranked among the top 5 in the C-SUV category

Strategic Hybrid Expansion

The company’s success is not just a result of strong branding—it’s also driven by product strategy. Stellantis has focused on broadening its hybrid vehicle lineup, catering to consumers looking for efficient alternatives while gradually transitioning toward electric driving.

Luca Napolitano, Commercial Operations Officer for Stellantis, shared the vision behind this strategy:
"We are fighting for the top spot in Europe and maintaining high pressure in the B-SUV segment, where we launched three key new models, the Citroën C3 Aircross, Opel/Vauxhall Frontera and FIAT Grande Panda. Furthermore, our decision to expand the range of hybrid vehicles, offering more choices to customers and facilitating a gradual transition to electric propulsion, granted us the leadership in the hybrid segment."

Looking Ahead with Confidence

March was a particularly strong month, generating the highest order intake in a year. Napolitano further emphasized the company’s long-term momentum:
"In a medium to long-term perspective, it is also worth noting the excellent order intake in March, the best month in a year, while our overall order portfolio at the end of the quarter reached the highest level in the last 10 months. Stellantis therefore operates with a strategic vision that will lead us to consolidate and improve the good results of this first quarter."

Success Beyond Passenger Cars

Stellantis also reaffirmed its dominance in the light commercial vehicle segment across the EU30, holding a 30.2% market share—climbing to an even more impressive 31.5% in the electric commercial vehicle category. Its Stellantis Pro One lineup ranks #1 in 8 of the top 10 EU markets.

Consumers Can Expect More Choices and Cleaner Driving

Whether you're in the market for a compact hybrid, an urban-ready SUV, or an efficient light commercial vehicle, Stellantis is delivering innovation that matches modern needs. With an ever-expanding hybrid lineup and continued strategic growth, the automaker is paving the way for a more sustainable, driver-friendly future.

Planted Doubles Down on Sustainable Protein with New High-Tech Facility in Southern Germany

Planted Doubles Down on Sustainable Protein with New High-Tech Facility in Southern Germany
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – September 23, 2025 – A new chapter in sustainable food innovation begins as Swiss food tech pioneer Planted opens its most advanced production facility to date in Memmingen, Bavaria, marking a significant expansion in the company's mission to revolutionize plant-based meat.

The new site is set to transform how Europe produces and enjoys plant-based protein. Designed with cutting-edge fermentation technology, the Memmingen facility will produce over 20 tons of biostructured protein daily — doubling Planted’s total output and positioning the company at the forefront of a rapidly growing market.

Boosting Sustainability and Supply Across Europe

The decision to invest in Southern Germany aligns with Planted’s expansion goals and growing customer base. The Memmingen site will mainly serve Germany and other EU markets, including the UK.

Lukas Böni, Co-Founder and Executive Team Member of Planted, shared: “With an export share of 75% and Germany as our largest export customer, expansion into our biggest EU market was an obvious step. The newly gained proximity to the target market and the state-of-the-art production facility allow for even more sustainable and efficient logistics and production to meet growing demand and be closer to our international customers. The Kemptthal site remains a key pillar of our production, especially for the Swiss market. However, we have reached capacity limits here.”

Around 50 technical and operational jobs will be created at the new site, a former brewery complex. Böni added: “We benefit from qualified professionals and a long tradition of food production in the region, as well as advanced infrastructure and excellent transport connections. Additionally, our proximity to the Kemptthal headquarters provides key advantages in technology transfer, especially in fermentation.”

Smart Energy and Local Collaboration Drive Green Goals

Planted’s commitment to sustainability is deeply embedded in the Memmingen facility’s design. In collaboration with local partner Alois-Müller-Gruppe, the plant is equipped with energy-efficient systems aimed at achieving CO₂ neutrality.

Andreas Müller, Managing Director of Alois-Müller-Gruppe, emphasized the local cooperation: “The swift implementation was thanks to the city of Memmingen and the new Mayor Jan Rothenbacher, who led the quick and straightforward approval process. Memmingen can build fast! Another key success factor was the short decision-making paths at Planted, which show what’s possible when SMEs and young companies work together in trust.”

The facility features groundwater cooling, regional biomass heating, and solar panels that deliver clean, renewable electricity.

planted.steak Takes Center Stage

The new facility isn’t just about capacity — it’s also a hub for innovation. Planted is focusing the site’s efforts on scaling its premium muscle-cut product line, especially the highly popular planted.steak introduced in 2024.

This new category has captured the attention of consumers and retailers alike. Recent listings include REWE and Kaufland in Germany, Tesco in the UK, Carrefour in France, Albert Heijn in the Netherlands, and Migros in Switzerland.

The environmental advantages are clear: one planted.steak emits 97% less CO₂ and uses 81% less water than conventional beef. Plus, it contains no additives and is packed with protein, fiber, vitamin B12, and iron — all from natural ingredients.

Fresh Flavors and New Campaigns for Summer

Just in time for BBQ season, Planted is rolling out planted.steak Paprika — a bold, flavor-packed variant of its flagship product. More innovations in the steak line are already in development and slated for release later this year.

In parallel, Planted is stepping up its visibility with a major TV campaign in Germany and Austria. Partnering with SevenVentures, the investment arm of ProSiebenSat.1, the brand launched its first ads on ProSieben channels and the Joyn streaming platform on April 21, 2025. The face of the campaign? None other than 2019 Swiss wrestling champion Christian Stucki — a self-proclaimed meat lover and now an ambassador for Planted.

The Future of Meat, Grown Naturally

As Planted continues to push boundaries in sustainable protein production, the new Memmingen site stands as a milestone in both innovation and impact. With a deep commitment to clean ingredients, environmental stewardship, and taste that satisfies even traditional meat lovers, Planted is proving that the future of meat is already here — and it’s plant-based.
