SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Feb. 1, 2025 – The Twiel has arrived! At boot 2025 in Düsseldorf, the southern German company Mizu Marine presented the prototype of its innovative motorboat, the Twiel Z7, and the public was thrilled. The avant-garde design with its curved double hull and innovative technology, such as energy recovery through the "Twister" system, make the Twiel Z7 a unique boat in the electric age.
Unique Design and Innovative Technology
"We finished on December 25th," beams Michael Zupritt, who was instrumental in the development of the Twiel Z7. His "Christmas present" exceeded the expectations raised by the renderings in the summer of 2024. The anthracite gray hull, the warm mustard yellow upholstery, and the deck covered in blue carpet give the boat an extravagant yet elegant look.
The front of the almost eight-meter-long construction attracts everyone's attention. A casual arch that curves forward from the two hulls to the bow forms a portal reminiscent of a huge gullet or a duck's beak. "We spent five years working on the design," explains Zupritt. The goal was clear: "We don't want to build just another Riva; it should be something completely different."
Efficient Propulsion with Two Electric Motors
Under the hood of the Twiel Z7 are two electric motors from the Chinese manufacturer ePropulsion. In each hull of the catamaran is an ePropulsion i20 inboard motor with 20 kW, which corresponds to 27 hp. These motors enable a calculated speed of up to 40 knots, which offers enough power for large bodies of water such as Lake Constance or coastal areas.
Revolutionary Energy Recovery with the "Twister" System
A highlight of the Twiel Z7 is the planned "Twister" system for energy recovery. "It should generate its own electricity for its drive," Zupritt announces. A water wheel is to be attached between the hulls, which rotates in the oncoming water and drives a generator that charges the batteries. This system should enable the Twiel Z7 to produce its own electricity and thus be independent of external charging stations.
A Boat for the Future of Electric Mobility on the Water
The Twiel Z7 is more than just a motorboat. It is a statement for the future of electric mobility on the water. The unique design, the innovative technology, and the sustainable energy recovery make the Twiel Z7 a pioneer in the boating industry.
The Twiel Z7 is proof that even sophisticated designs and high drive power can be combined with sustainable materials and modern lightweight construction. With the Twiel Z7, the Mizu Marine shipyard has created a ship concept that sets new standards in the boating industry.
The Twiel Z7 is not just a boat, it is an experience. It invites you to rediscover freedom on the water while protecting the environment. The Twiel Z7 is a boat for everyone who is looking for something special and wants to help shape the future of electric mobility on the water.
