Their adventure, filled with stunning landscapes, newfound friendships, and the thrill of navigating a cutting-edge vessel, highlights the beauty of Scandinavia and the exceptional capabilities of the Xc 47.
Setting Sail from Denmark
Their voyage began at the X-Yachts headquarters in Haderslev, Denmark, where they received a comprehensive walkthrough of their new vessel. Guided by experienced sailor Torben Kornum, they charted a course through the captivating waters of Scandinavia. "It was great to do this with an experienced sailor who knows these waters, as we have sailed around the world, but this was our first trip around the Nordic Oceans," Tali shared. With a spirit of adventure and a flexible itinerary, they set sail to explore the hidden gems of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
Danish Delights and Unexpected Encounters
Denmark welcomed them with open arms and unparalleled hospitality. "It was unlike anything we had experienced before — and we have sailed around most of the world," Yuval remarked. From the helpful fisherman guiding them into Middelfart harbor to the charming islands of the South Sea, Denmark left a lasting impression. They even had a chance encounter with Queen Margrethe II during their three-week stay on the picturesque island of Bornholm.
Docking in Copenhagen's Nyhavn Harbor proved to be a unique experience. "You can sail directly into the harbor and dock right in the city center, allowing you to venture into the city while still getting a peaceful night’s sleep without the big-city noise," Tali explained. Their Danish adventure also included a visit to Dragør, a historic town with undeniable charm.
Finding Shelter and Solace in Norway's Fjords
Seeking refuge from unpredictable weather, they found tranquility in the Oslo Fjord. "We highly recommend the Oslo Fjord in Norway, both for seeking shelter and for staying for a longer period, as it is a great place to anchor and have vacation," Yuval commented. The calm waters and breathtaking scenery, particularly in Egersund, captivated them, leading to an extended stay filled with visits from friends and family.
Swedish Landscapes and Finnish Serenity
Sweden's stunning landscapes and efficient harbors impressed Tali and Yuval. Blessed with sunny days, they explored the numerous fjords and coastal cities, marveling at the natural beauty and organized atmosphere.
Finland, often overlooked, surprised them with its tranquil beauty and lack of tourist crowds. "The scenery was stunning, with breathtaking views," Tali recalled. The serenity and natural wonders of Finland proved to be an unexpected highlight of their journey.
The Xc 47: A Sailor's Dream
As seasoned X-Yachts owners, Tali and Yuval were particularly excited about their new Xc 47. "We have owned three X-Yachts during our time as boat owners, and we must say, our newest one is special," Yuval stated.
Effortless Handling and Innovative Features
Despite its size, the Xc 47 proved remarkably easy to handle, even with just the two of them on board. "The yacht is perfect for two people, whether they’re young or older," Tali confirmed. The joystick control simplified maneuvering in tight harbors, impressing onlookers with their ability to effortlessly dock the large yacht in confined spaces.
The Xc 47's design and features enhanced their sailing experience. "The design and shape of the boat allow it to move effortlessly even in light winds," Yuval observed. The in-boom furling system and self-tacking capabilities streamlined sail management, while the efficient sail plan maximized performance in all wind conditions. "Even in windy weather, the boat excels! Thanks to the overall system and in-boom furling, we felt secure in strong winds," Tali added.
Responsive Performance and a Joy to Sail
The Xc 47's responsiveness to sail adjustments delighted them. "The Xc 47 is wonderfully responsive, and it was a true pleasure for us to play with the adjustments while sailing," Yuval shared. The yacht's design fostered teamwork and clear roles between them, making sailing a shared and enjoyable experience.
A Welcoming Community
Their loyalty to X-Yachts stems not only from the quality of the boats but also from the strong sense of community among owners. "Everywhere we went, people were excited when we arrived. Everyone notices an X-Yacht, and it’s like being part of a community—or a family—where people help each other, share advice about the harbor and the city, and take care of one another," Tali explained.

With a lifetime of sailing experience, Tali and Yuval have adopted a relaxed approach to their voyages. "We avoid rushing, preferring to take our time and fully immerse ourselves in the experiences as they unfold," Yuval reflected. This open mindset has led to new friendships and unexpected adventures. "Without a tight schedule, we were able to welcome new adventures, people, and possibilities. Staying in one place for longer allows us to explore more deeply. The longer we stay, the more we enjoy it," Tali added.
Looking Ahead
After concluding their Scandinavian adventure in Haderslev, Tali and Yuval entrusted their Xc 47 to the expert care of X-Yachts for winter storage. With their sights set on returning to the South Sea of Denmark in the summer of 2025, they are already planning their next adventure. "Scandinavia has even more to discover! We are counting the days until July 4th, 2025," they exclaimed.
