SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Dec. 4, 2024 – BWT Alpine Formula One Team and Official Partner, Microsoft, have teamed up to create an exciting new Minecraft Education world as part of their ongoing Race into STEM program. This innovative initiative aims to promote gender diversity in motorsport and inspire a passion for STEM subjects among young people worldwide.

An Immersive 8-Bit Learning Experience

The Minecraft Education world offers a unique and engaging way for students to explore the inner workings of a Formula One team. Set in a remarkably detailed 8-bit recreation of the BWT Alpine Formula One Team factory in Enstone, Oxfordshire, U.K., players can delve into the various departments and learn about the intricate process of designing, building, and racing a Formula One car.

Meet the Team and Explore Key Concepts

Throughout their virtual journey, players will interact with key members of the BWT Alpine Formula One Team, including Dalia Ramos Guerra, Head of Build and Test, and Chief Financial Officer Gemma Lang. These interactions provide valuable insights into the diverse roles within a Formula One team and highlight the importance of STEM skills in this exciting field.

Interactive Activities and Challenges

The Minecraft Education world features a variety of interactive activities and challenges designed to enhance the learning experience. Players can test car designs in the wind tunnel, participate in a pit stop, and engage in other hands-on activities that bring the world of Formula One to life.

Expanding the Reach of Race into STEM

This Minecraft Education world builds on the success of the Race into STEM program, which has already reached over one hundred students through events in Mexico City, London, Melbourne, and France. The program's digital platform has also garnered over 80,000 visits from 99 countries, offering a free and accessible curriculum curated by FIA Girls on Track UK and featuring videos from BWT Alpine Formula One Team employees.

Inspiring the Next Generation of STEM Leaders

To celebrate the launch of the Minecraft Education world, BWT Alpine Formula One Team invited students from Middle Barton Primary School to Enstone for an exclusive preview and tour of the factory. The students had the opportunity to experience the game firsthand and engage in a Q&A session with team members featured in the virtual world, including Dalia, Gemma, and Senior Aerodynamicist, Paula Garcia Ruiz.

"We are thrilled to partner with Microsoft on this exciting project," said a BWT Alpine Formula One Team spokesperson. "The Minecraft Education world provides a fun and engaging way for young people to learn about STEM and explore the exciting world of Formula One.
