BMW M Motorsport Achieves Record-Breaking 2024 Season

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Dec. 17, 2024 – BMW M Motorsport celebrates a triumphant 2024 season, marked by an impressive collection of victories, titles, and milestones across various racing disciplines. The BMW M Hybrid V8, BMW M4 GT3, and BMW M4 GT4 collectively achieved 215 wins, participated in over 1,000 races, and covered over a million kilometers.

BMW M Hybrid V8: A Strong Upward Trend

In its debut year in the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) and second year in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IMSA series), the BMW M Hybrid V8 faced fierce competition. Despite initial challenges, the team showed a clear upward trajectory, culminating in a historic 1-2 finish for BMW M Team RLL in the IMSA series and the first podium for BMW M Team WRT in the FIA WEC.

BMW M4 GT3: A Consistent Performer

The BMW M4 GT3, now in its third season, continued to demonstrate its prowess with 50 victories and ten global titles. Notable achievements include team titles for Schubert Motorsport in the DTM and Team WRT in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, as well as the driver's title for Charles Weerts in the Intercontinental GT Challenge.

BMW M4 GT4: A Global Champion

The BMW M4 GT4 secured a historic win by clinching the first-ever SRO global GT4 Manufacturer's title. This title was determined over 50 events and 95 races across Europe, Asia, Australia, and America. BMW M Motorsport customer teams further demonstrated the car's dominance by participating in 770 races and winning 164 of them.

Customer Racing Successes

Beyond the three main race cars, BMW M Motorsport celebrated numerous triumphs with private teams racing the BMW M2 CS Racing, BMW M240i Racing, and other BMW models.

Esports Triumphs

BMW M Motorsport also dominated the automotive gaming scene. BMW M Team Redline secured victory at the prestigious Esports World Cup, the grand finale of the ESL R1 racing series. Kevin Siggy won the driver's championship, while teammate Sebastian Job was named "Sim Racer of the Year" at the 2024 Esports Awards.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport, expressed his satisfaction with the 2024 season's performance and congratulated all the teams and drivers who contributed to the success. He also shared his determination to achieve even greater heights in the next season with the BMW M Hybrid V8 and the further-developed EVO models of the GT cars.

Björn Lellmann, Head of Customer Racing at BMW M Motorsport, echoed Roos' sentiments and thanked all the customer teams for their contributions. He highlighted the importance of customer racing as a central pillar of BMW M Motorsport's program and expressed excitement for the upcoming season with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO and BMW M4 GT4 EVO, as well as the introduction of the BMW M2 Racing in 2026.
