This initiative follows the French motorsport governing body FFSA’s efforts to lower the barriers to entry with its FR6 ruleset, and builds on the success of the existing Clio Rally5.
Responding directly to the FR6 regulations, Renault is offering a comprehensive kit compatible with the fifth generation of the production Clio. The kit is priced at €19,999 (US$20,940), including VAT, making it a highly competitive option for those looking to enter the rally scene.
Renault is the first manufacturer to provide a kit-based approach to the FR6 regulations. The process begins with the purchase of a standard Renault Clio, equipped with a 1.3-liter TCe engine producing 140bhp and a 6-speed manual transmission. Once this base vehicle is secured, the Rally6 kit can be installed, transforming the road car into a competitive rally machine. A significant portion of the kit components are derived from the proven Clio Rally5, ensuring reliability and performance.
The only additional requirement is the installation of a Rally4 or Rally5 specification roll cage, which must be fitted by an approved installer. This safety measure adds €2,640 ($2765) to the total cost, including VAT.
