SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 29, 2024 – With less than three weeks to go before official testing begins prior to Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, DS Automobiles and PENSKE AUTOSPORT have presented the DS E-TENSE FE25. Featuring a fresh design, more aerodynamic bodywork, four-wheel drive, and a new powertrain developed by DS Performance, the DS E-TENSE FE25 will be the ace up the sleeve of the Franco-American squad.
DS Automobiles is ready for a historic and symbolic milestone: Having been engaged in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship since Season 2, the French premium manufacturer, with two double titles already racked up (both the drivers' and teams' championships in 2019 and 2020), will tackle its 10th season of competition in the all-electric series. DS Automobiles has been associated with PENSKE AUTOSPORT since 2022, and today reveals the Gen3 Evo DS E-TENSE FE25, which will make its official debut at Valencia in Spain during pre-season testing for Season 11.
With a deep black livery characterised by golden stripes, the DS E-TENSE FE25 also features an all-new powertrain. This advanced technology unit, which was developed by DS Performance over two years, incorporates all the electric know-how from the competition department of DS Automobiles. Combined with four-wheel drive (in 350kW mode) and new tires to ensure optimal roadholding, the new powertrain, consisting of an inverter, gearbox, and motor, will be more efficient than its predecessor and more comfortable to drive.
With Jean-Eric Vergne, Formula E's only two-time champion and the record-holder for the most pole positions in the series, as well as the talented Maximilian Günther at the wheel, the DS E-TENSE FE25 is set to take DS PENSKE towards new heights of success. The objectives for the Franco-American team are clear: to continue the excellent performances seen in qualifying (DS PENSKE holds the record for the number of front-row starts in Season 10), improve race pace, get among the established series leaders, and score the maximum number of podiums.
After testing at Valencia officially gives the green light to Season 11, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will get underway with 17 races all over the world. The first round takes place at Sao Paulo in Brazil.
