A Day of Testing and Collaboration
Turin, December 4th, 2024 – Valtteri Bottas, a member of the exclusive "Club 33" and future owner of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, collaborated with the Alfa Romeo engineering team to put the "00 prototype" through its paces on the iconic Alfa Romeo track at the Balocco Proving Ground.
Bottas was impressed by the car's intuitive handling and responsiveness. "The car immediately puts you at ease: extremely responsive, precise. The feeling with the car is immediate, extremely easy and fun to understand, and you certainly don't need to be an F1 driver to experience it," he remarked.
Unmistakable Sound and Driving Experience
The 33 Stradale's powerful engine and exhaust note also captivated the F1 driver. "In addition, its sound envelops the passenger compartment and is unmistakably Alfa Romeo," Bottas commented.
The testing session included medium- and high-speed tests, focusing on the car's balance, braking system, and road handling. Bottas's feedback will be instrumental in fine-tuning the 33 Stradale to achieve its ambitious goal of offering the best driving experience in its class.
From Giulia GTAm to 33 Stradale
Bottas, who already owns a Giulia GTAm, one of only 500 produced, was eager to experience the 33 Stradale. He began the test session with a reconnaissance lap in the Giulia GTAm to familiarize himself with the track. He then transitioned to the 33 Stradale, where he explored its capabilities in both Strada (Road) and Pista (Track) driving modes.
Performance and Technology
The 33 Stradale is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine producing over 620 hp, enabling it to reach a top speed of 333 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds. Its advanced technologies, including a dual-arm suspension with active shock absorbers, Alfa Romeo Brake-By-Wire system, and carbon-ceramic brakes, contribute to its exceptional performance and handling.
A Glimpse into the Future of Alfa Romeo
After testing the 33 Stradale, Bottas also had the opportunity to experience the Alfa Romeo Junior 280 Veloce, a 100% electric sports compact car. This test drive provided a glimpse into the future of Alfa Romeo, showcasing the brand's commitment to electrification and performance.
