SHERIDAN, WYOMING – April 7, 2025 – For the first time ever, legendary racing machines from Audi’s storied motorsport history are becoming available to private collectors. Audi Sport has launched its new racing legends program, offering drivable LMP1 and DTM prototypes built with manufacturer precision and exclusive support. This is a rare opportunity for enthusiasts to own, drive, and be part of Audi’s championship legacy.
A New Chapter in Audi Motorsport
Audi Sport opens the garage doors to its legendary racing heritage.
Audi Sport is redefining how consumers experience motorsport history by releasing select prototypes from its Le Mans and DTM factory programs. The newly launched racing legends initiative allows discerning collectors to purchase original chassis rebuilt with authentic, reconditioned parts and engineering expertise.
“We are rebuilding these chassis together with reconditioned parts from that time into racing cars according to strict standards and with a high level of expertise,” said Rolf Michl, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. “In some cases, even the developers from that era are involved in the current projects.”
Racing Royalty Up for Grabs
Iconic racing cars like the Audi R18 e-tron quattro and RS 5 DTM take center stage.
Two standout vehicles were revealed at an exclusive event on April 2 in Neuburg an der Donau: chassis 207 of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro and chassis 107 of the RS 5 DTM. These models are not just historically significant—they are winners.
Chassis 207 of the Audi R18, piloted by Romain Dumas, Loïc Duval, and Marc Gené, secured the first victory for the RP2 generation in the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship at Spa-Francorchamps. Meanwhile, the RS 5 DTM chassis triumphed at the 2015 DTM finale in Hockenheim with driver Timo Scheider.
“Customers can look forward not only to extremely sought-after racing cars, but also to a firework display of driving emotions,” Michl added. “Our customers become part of a select circle, benefit from our motorsport expertise and receive comprehensive support.”

Audi Sport ensures a full-service experience for collectors.
The program is more than just a sale—it’s an invitation to join an elite motorsport community. After delivery, Audi Sport racing legends provides ongoing support that includes regular technical inspections, spare parts services, expert consultations with former developers, and assistance during racing events.
The first delivery is scheduled for mid-year, but the journey doesn’t end there. Audi Sport’s team will offer long-term, personalized service to each collector.
