The Equitana Innovation Prizes have now been awarded. Our panel of experts chose a winner in each of seven categories as well as awarding a special prize. There was also a clear winner in the eyes of the Equitana social media community when it came to the Visitor’s Prize. In the final vote, the majority selected a belt made of apple leather by Royal Horsemen. “This prize is hugely encouraging for us because community management is very important to us. It is vital that we are as close to the consumer as possible,” CEO Robin Schuster stressed.

Special Jury Prize

As usual, a panel made up of management experts, vets, consultants and journalists selected prize winners in a total of seven different categories. The Special Prize went to the company Leovet for their Leovetis-Leckerchen packaging. The reason for awarding the prize was that “the company has invested in a packaging solution that is both sustainable and economic. The bag is made of corn and sugar starches and 100% compostable”. The panel looks forward to seeing many more such solutions in the future.

Stables, indoor and outdoor riding arena construction

Ecobooster was awarded the prize in the category for stables, indoor and outdoor riding arena construction for their Elitestall. This new box flooring made of recycled material is intended to save litter thanks to its soft padded design. The elastic flooring consists of a single-piece rubber layer. “The jury recommends conducting scientific studies to examine the effects of the floor covering on horses’ lying behaviour and also on their musculoskeletal system,” said Prof. Dirk Winter of the College for the Economy and Environment Nürtingen Geislingen and leader of the Jungborn Teaching and Testing Academy.

Pasture, stable equipment and associated materials

The digital interface for promoting equine farm connectivity received the jury’s award in the pasture, stable technology and associated materials category. The experts explained their decision by saying, “Instead of island solutions, the dashboard provides a clear user-interface that can be used to monitor important parameters.” The system provided by Rossmayer Consulting makes life considerably easier for equine farms.

Feed

Marstall won the prize in the feed category with its new MyoCare muesli. The company has developed a product specifically aimed at horses with metabolic issues. The jury particularly stressed the care that had gone into selecting ingredients for the muesli. “Its composition is based on sound scientific principles.”

Riding apparel, workwear and safety products

Our experts were particularly enthusiastic about a very special riding boot in the category for riding apparel, workwear and safety products. “We found the idea of a shaft that adapts to suit the shape of your calf to be both innovative and economic,” stressed Cavallo editor-in-chief, Linda Krüger, when awarding the prize in Equitana’s main arena. At the same time, she praised the conscious decision on the part of Horsepilot to do without animal leather, also praising the comfort of the sole which is reminiscent of a sports shoe.

Horse and training equipment

With its Horseshape Smart 3D Scan, TEC Competence GmbH & Co. KG presented a solution in the horse and training equipment category that is both innovative and practical. Horse owners can use their smartphone to identify changes in the saddle area and react accordingly. “The jury would like to support this aid to maintaining a healthy back for the horse,” said the expert for riding facilities and stable buildings, Stefanie Arnhard, when presenting the award.

Vehicles and trailers

With its 1190 eHoftrac, Weidemann has focussed on sustainability. This completely redesigned e-loader incorporates many improvements, greater comfort and provides the ideal tool for safe working throughout the entire working day. The onboard battery charger and improved battery and charging technology make it autonomous. Our panel awarded the 1190 eHoftrac its innovation prize for the wealth of new features it has to offer.

Sustainability / CSR

A new shopping cart system was what motivated our experts to award the prize in the sustainability category to Agrobs. The jury praised the fact that online buyers are continually informed about how heavy their orders already are and how much available weight they still have available. “A simple visual makes this transparent to consumers, offering them the possibility of making optimum use of the space still available.
