5G+ Gaming: A Game-Changer for Mobile Cloud Gaming

Twitch streamer and TikTok star DI1ARAA and SK Gaming professional BigSpin showcased the power of 5G+ Gaming during a live Fortnite match. DI1ARAA, equipped with 5G+ Gaming, effortlessly outmaneuvered her opponent, while BigSpin, playing without the enhanced 5G features, struggled to keep up.

"The game ran perfectly – no delays, no stuttering," exclaimed DI1ARAA. "Thanks to 5G+ Gaming, I could navigate my avatar effortlessly and always stay one step ahead of my opponent." BigSpin admitted, "It was a tough game. Even though I usually do well in such games, without the additional 5G features, I simply didn't have the same reaction time."

Unveiling the 5G+ Gaming Package

Deutsche Telekom, ALSO, and Ludium Lab are set to launch an enticing package for cloud gamers this fall. The package includes free access to 100 top games for six months, all delivered in real-time over a highly stable connection.Popular titles like Fortnite, PUBG, and 9 Years of Shadows will be available through the Sora Stream Android app.

Initially, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be the first smartphone to support all the features of 5G+ Gaming.Deutsche Telekom plans to expand compatibility to other devices in the future. Notably, 5G+ Gaming is the world's first consumer offering based on Network Slicing, a collaboration between Samsung Electronics and a telecommunications provider.

5G Innovation: The Backbone of 5G+ Gaming

The 5G+ Gaming solution leverages Deutsche Telekom's 5G Standalone network, which enables the application of specific network features. Network Slicing, a key feature, divides the network into virtual "slices" tailored for specific needs, such as low latency for cloud gaming. Another feature optimizes available data rates to ensure smooth visuals and minimal lag, even in busy network areas. Deutsche Telekom is the first network operator to integrate these intelligent features into its 5G network and offer them to customers.

Equal eSports Initiative: Championing Diversity

Following the 5G+ Gaming presentation, the Equal eSports panel discussion, "From Dream to Reality: The Importance of Non-Male Role Models," took place. Antje Hundhausen, Vice President Brand Experience Deutsche Telekom and patron of the initiative, stressed the need for visible role models in eSports. The panel, featuring DI1ARAA and Luna 'Zavee' Lochmann, a successful eSports athlete with SK Avarosa, explored the challenges and opportunities for non-male role models in the eSports arena.

Hundhausen expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "I am very pleased that we have this unique opportunity to discuss together with DI1ARAA and Luna 'Zavee' Lochmann in a panel. DI1ARAA is a strong voice for young people, and it's great that the Equal eSports Initiative is strengthened by her support. Luna, as a successful eSports athlete and member of SK Avarosa, brings valuable practical insights that illustrate the importance of diverse role models who encourage and inspire. It's inspiring to see how we can jointly develop concrete measures to promote diversity and inclusion in eSports and break down gender barriers."

The Equal eSports Cup, the largest League of Legends tournament series for women and non-binary players in the EMEA region, is currently underway as part of Deutsche Telekom's Equal eSports Initiative. The grand finale will take place on August 24th and 25th at Gamescom, showcasing the talent and passion of these players before a large audience and live on Twitch.
