SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Dec. 17, 2024 – The 2024 BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club proved to be a resounding success both on and off the course. The Western Golf Association announced today that the tournament raised a record-breaking $10.2 million for the Evans Scholars Foundation, which provides full tuition and housing college scholarships to deserving young caddies.

A Legacy of Giving

This remarkable contribution marks the largest single donation in the history of the BMW Championship, further solidifying its commitment to supporting educational opportunities for youth caddies. Since partnering with the Evans Scholars Foundation in 2007, the BMW Championship has raised over $60 million, helping to send more than 3,600 caddies to college.

Vince Pellegrino, WGA Senior Vice President of Tournaments, expressed his gratitude for the collective effort: "So many moments from this year will stay with us, but what really stands out is how the golf fans of Colorado joined with our partners at BMW, Castle Pines Golf Club and the PGA TOUR to make such a tremendous difference for youth caddies. This contribution means hundreds of deserving young men and women will have an opportunity to change their lives for the better.”

Celebrating Caddies and Community Impact

The 2024 BMW Championship, held August 20-25, marked the PGA TOUR's return to Colorado after a decade-long absence. More than 138,000 spectators witnessed Keegan Bradley's thrilling victory, his second BMW Championship title. The tournament also highlighted the invaluable role of caddies, with Evans Scholars caddying for professionals during practice rounds and participating in key events throughout the week.

The event further honored the contributions of Evans Scholars Alumni George and Geoff "Duffy" Solich, Colorado philanthropists who were inducted into the Caddie Hall of Fame. BMW Executive Ilka Horstmeier also visited the University of Colorado Evans Scholarship House and engaged in a meaningful discussion with Evans Scholars.

Horstmeier, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, People and Places, emphasized BMW's dedication to supporting youth opportunities: "The BMW Group is proud of our longstanding partnership with the Western Golf Association, and of the great impact the BMW Championship makes in the lives of so many scholars. As a forward-thinking corporation, opportunities for young people are matters particularly close to our heart. Education is the key to a self-determined life and an important pillar for the cohesion of our society. We are proud to support the Evans Scholars Foundation and their fantastic efforts in driving change.”

Tournament of the Year - A Six-Time Honor

The 2024 BMW Championship was recognized as the PGA TOUR's "Tournament of the Year" for a record sixth time, a testament to its commitment to providing an exceptional experience for players, caddies, and fans.

Marcus Casey, Chief Marketing Officer, BMW of North America, expressed his appreciation for the award: "It’s an honor to be recognized in this way — and for the sixth time, no less — because each year we truly give the BMW Championship everything we’ve got. Tournament week is an invaluable opportunity to showcase our brand on an international stage while engaging with fans in a meaningful way. Thank you to the PGA TOUR for this honor, and to the BMW team, our partners, the volunteers, and fans who bring the BMW Championship to life each year. This extraordinary event would not be possible without your commitment, dedication, and passion.”

Looking Ahead

The 2025 BMW Championship will be held at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland, from August 12-17. With its continued dedication to excellence and charitable giving, the BMW Championship promises to be a highlight of the PGA TOUR season for years to come.
