SHERIDAN, WYOMING – June 23, 2025 – Motorcycle racing fans were treated to high-speed excitement and tire-shredding action at the 8 Hours of Spa Motos this past weekend, as Dunlop-equipped teams rose to the challenge of Belgium’s legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. With podium expectations set high after a strong Le Mans performance, Dunlop-supported riders put on a show across all three classes: Formula EWC, Superstock Trophy, and the all-new Production Trophy.
Confidence and Control in Every Corner
Spa’s fast corners, steep elevation changes, and notorious weather surprises make it a true test for any racer—and the 2025 edition delivered all that and more. Riders tackled a partially resurfaced 3.5 km of track, giving them smoother tarmac and improved grip—ideal conditions to push performance to the edge.
To handle such diversity, Dunlop teams relied on the proven KR109 and KR108 slick tires. These racing slicks offered excellent one-lap pace and long-distance durability. As weather conditions fluctuated, Dunlop’s blend of grip and consistency helped teams adapt in real time.
Podium Passion Across Every Category
From endurance champions to rising stars, Dunlop riders made their presence known:
- In Formula EWC, six Dunlop-supported teams battled it out, including privateer standout #6 ERC Endurance Team (BMW), which currently holds third in the season standings after a solid Le Mans podium.
- The Superstock Trophy saw all 22 competing teams equipped with Dunlop tires. Leading the way in the championship are #55 National Motos Honda FMA, closely followed by #41 Dafy-Rac Honda and #36 3ART Best of Bike Yamaha.
- History was made as the Production Trophy crowned its first-ever Spa winner. Among the contenders were new entrants PRD Team CL Racing and Flying Buffs M3 Racing, as well as Moto Ain Racing Team, which moved down from Formula EWC to the entry-level class.
Wim Van Achter, Motorsport Manager, Dunlop Motorcycle Europe, stated: “We're excited to support 34 teams at this year’s 8 Hours of Spa Motos, spanning Formula EWC, Superstock Trophy and Production Trophy classes. Spa’s combination of technical challenges and unpredictable weather creates the ultimate proving ground for our racing tires, helping us refine the next generation of the KR range in the process. We wish all the teams and riders the best of luck for this second round of the season.”
Racing Toward the Future
Dunlop’s involvement in the FIM Endurance World Championship is more than just competition—it's about evolving tire technology under real-world pressure. Each lap at Spa offers data and insight that feeds into the next generation of performance tires for consumers and pros alike.
Fans can look forward to continued action throughout the season as Dunlop-powered teams aim for even greater success in upcoming EWC races.
