SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Jan. 29, 2025 – Koelnmesse and the German Federal Association of Digital Economy (BVDW) have announced a long-term extension of their agreement to host DMEXCO in Cologne. This ensures that Europe's leading event for digital marketing and technology will remain in the city for the foreseeable future.
The contract signing took place in Cologne with Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse, and Dirk Freytag, President of the BVDW. "The contract extension is a vote of confidence and lays the foundation for a successful future," said Böse. "It is also a positive impulse for Cologne as a business location and strengthens its position as a hotspot for the digital economy." DMEXCO 2025 will be held in Cologne on September 17th and 18th.
This announcement follows the recent news that Koelnmesse and BVDW will launch DMEXCO ASIA in Singapore on October 8th and 9th, 2025, expanding the flagship event's reach into the Asian market.
DMEXCO: A Driving Force in the Digital Economy
Since its inception in 2009, DMEXCO has been firmly rooted in Cologne and has evolved into one of the most important international meeting places for the digital economy. It is considered a central platform for marketing, data, and technology, and the place where decisive impulses for the industry are set. In 2024, DMEXCO showcased the latest developments in the digital economy with over 850 international speakers, 680 exhibiting companies and partners, and more than 40,000 attendees from around 90 countries.
Koelnmesse and BVDW are committed to further developing the DMEXCO format. "First the future, then the history," said Freytag. "As brand owner and specialist sponsor of DMEXCO, we look back on 15 successful years together with Koelnmesse. Together, we have developed DMEXCO into a leading event for the digital economy. The long-term contract extension underlines our confidence in continuing to develop this leading event together, to further sharpen its content, and to successfully shape the future."
DMEXCO: A Catalyst for Digitalization Across Industries
For Koelnmesse, DMEXCO is also a strategically important factor for its wider trade fair portfolio, as digitalization adds a new dimension to virtually all industries and thus to its trade fairs. "DMEXCO is an important source of inspiration and momentum for us," said Böse. "We reflect its content, specifically prepared, at other important events. We will now be able to continue to use this thematic networking effectively."
The continued presence of DMEXCO in Cologne reinforces the city's position as a hub for digital innovation and strengthens its appeal to businesses and professionals in the digital sector
