To address this challenge, Deutsche Telekom, in collaboration with FIEGE, developed "Build Up Eye," a digital assistance system that uses AI to optimize ULD loading. LiDAR cameras positioned around the packing stations capture real-time depth and distance data, creating a three-dimensional model of the pallet as it's being loaded.

Workers then use a digital workspace to overlay a virtual template onto the pallet image, simulating the required contour for the specific aircraft. AI-Vision, an AI-powered image and video analysis platform, analyzes the data in real-time, immediately highlighting any contour violations. This allows workers to make adjustments on the spot, ensuring optimal loading and preventing costly delays or safety risks.
