MWC25: Unlocking New Growth Opportunities
The Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC25) commenced this week in Barcelona, providing a platform for industry leaders to explore the future of telecommunications. Huawei is actively participating in the event, engaging with stakeholders across various sectors. The focus is on “how we can unlock new growth opportunities, create new business value, and drive shared success.” Those interested in learning more can visit Huawei’s dedicated event mini-site.
Global Deployment of FDD Tri-Band Massive MIMO
In a move to enhance network capabilities and meet the growing demand for 4G and 5G services, Huawei has initiated the global commercial deployment of its FDD tri-band Massive MIMO (1.8 GHz, 2.1 GHz, and 2.6 GHz). This advanced technology aims to “help operators maximize the value of sub-3 GHz spectrum.” The solution is particularly beneficial in regions experiencing a surge in 4G network traffic, allowing operators to “serve more subscribers, while further improving service experience for 5G users.” Commercial deployment has already begun in several African countries, including Nigeria, Angola, and Côte d'Ivoire. Notably, in locations like Lagos, Nigeria, the FDD tri-band Massive MIMO “outperforms conventional 4T4R solutions by handling 90% more 4G traffic during busy hours.”
