MagentaSport Celebrates a Decade of Growth, Reliability, and Innovation

SHERIDAN, WYOMING - September 23, 2024 - MagentaSport, the sports streaming platform from Deutsche Telekom, is marking its 10th anniversary. Launched on September 27, 2014, as "Telekom Basketball," the platform has grown significantly, captivating millions of sports fans and becoming a symbol of reliability for leagues and associations.

A Decade of Milestones

Since its inception, MagentaSport has delivered over 13,000 live productions, witnessing a remarkable increase in viewership from 4.5 million to 82 million per season. The platform's evolution is evident in its name changes, from "Telekom Basketball" to "Telekom Ice Hockey" in 2017, and finally to the all-encompassing "MagentaSport" in 2019.

Celebrating with Fans

To commemorate its 10th anniversary, MagentaSport is offering a series of top games free of charge to everyone, without registration, in the coming weeks. The lineup includes the start of the new DEL season with Augsburg vs. Ingolstadt, the opening of the "SAP Garden" in Munich with the EHC Red Bull vs. Buffalo Sabres game, and the start of the Basketball EuroLeague season with ALBA Berlin vs. Panathinaikos Athens.
