SHERIDAN, WYOMING – April 22, 2025 – Castle Peak Holdings, the Denver-based firm behind the adventure-centric Trailborn hotel brand, has officially acquired Snow King Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Marking its largest acquisition to date, Castle Peak plans to integrate the resort into the Trailborn portfolio, expanding the brand’s footprint in premier outdoor destinations.
Trailborn’s Outdoor Legacy Grows
Bringing bespoke adventure to Wyoming
The acquisition of the 203-room Snow King Resort represents a major milestone for Trailborn. Nestled at the base of Snow King Mountain and just steps from downtown Jackson, the resort offers ski-in/ski-out access, multiple meeting spaces, a restaurant, and full spa amenities. It will now serve as Trailborn’s first property in Wyoming and its eighth overall.
Trailborn, with its mission to deliver high-quality lodging experiences in iconic outdoor settings, is rapidly becoming a recognized name in the hospitality industry. With properties already operating in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina; Williams, Arizona; Estes Park, Colorado; and Highlands, North Carolina — and two more coming soon to Mendocino, California — the addition of Jackson Hole bolsters the brand’s national presence.
Strengthening Partnerships with Industry Giants
Trailborn joins forces with Marriott
Late last year, Trailborn entered into a long-term agreement with Marriott International. This partnership brings the Trailborn portfolio under Marriott’s global reservation and loyalty ecosystem, enabling guests to book stays via Marriott.com and earn Marriott Bonvoy points.
“We are thrilled to announce Trailborn’s agreement with Marriott, enhancing and underscoring our mission to provide travelers with exceptional access to the country’s most extraordinary outdoor destinations, deliver experiences guests love, and maintain the unique character of Trailborn’s independent spirit,” said Mike Weiss and Ben Weinberg, co-founders and Co-CEOs of Trailborn.
Revitalizing an Iconic Destination
Planned renovations to elevate the guest experience
Castle Peak Holdings has ambitious plans to renovate Snow King Resort, including updates to public areas, the lobby, meeting spaces, dining outlets, and the resort’s exterior. The goal is to reimagine the property while honoring Jackson Hole’s local character and charm.
“We’re honored to be the next stewards of the resort and excited to collaborate with the local community to create a space that reflects the true essence of Jackson’s culture,” said Weiss. “Once our renovation is complete, the hotel will offer travelers and locals an elevated experience with family-friendly amenities, expansive meeting and special event spaces, excellent dining, a spa and easy access to world-class skiing as well as Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park, making it the perfect base for exploring everything this iconic destination has to offer.”
Strategic Expansion into High-Demand Markets
Castle Peak targets high-barrier-to-entry locations
The acquisition aligns with Castle Peak Holdings’ strategy to target unique outdoor markets with limited development opportunities.
“This is Castle Peak at its best — buying off-market in iconic outdoor destinations with growing demand and high barriers-to-entry and executing a tactical repositioning that includes the world’s most powerful distribution platform with Trailborn, our outdoors-focused hotel brand,” said Weinberg. “We’re thrilled to enter Jackson Hole, one of the best-performing, four-season mountain destinations in the United States.”
Snow King Resort, soon to be known as Trailborn Jackson Hole, adds a new chapter to the Trailborn story — one that continues to redefine outdoor hospitality with thoughtful design, strategic partnerships, and a commitment to immersive guest experiences.
