Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, attended the launch event, emphasizing the strategic importance of the new route in aligning with Qatar's National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030, which prioritizes the German market as one of 15 key international focuses.

Qatar's tourism sector has experienced remarkable growth, particularly from the German market, following the successful hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The number of German visitors increased significantly from 30,000 in 2022 to 160,000 in 2023, and this upward trend shows no signs of slowing down, with 92,000 German tourists already visiting Qatar in the first five months of 2024. The direct flights between Hamburg and Doha are expected to further stimulate this growth, making Qatar an even more accessible and attractive destination for German travelers.
