Visit Qatar's Successful EURO 2024™ Activations Highlight Qatar as a Premier Travel Destination

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – July 18, 2024 – Visit Qatar, the official tourism promotion arm of Qatar, has successfully concluded its immersive and engaging activations at UEFA EURO 2024™ in Germany. The campaign, part of Visit Qatar's ongoing partnership with UEFA, showcased the nation's unique blend of cultural richness, modern attractions,and warm hospitality to a broad European audience.

The Doha Club: A Cultural Oasis

One of the highlights of Visit Qatar's presence at EURO 2024™ was The Doha Club, a vibrant activation hosted at the Fan Zone Reichstag in Berlin and the Fan Zone Olympiapark in Munich. This modern beach club-inspired space welcomed an estimated 45,000 visitors, offering them a taste of Qatari culture through traditional cuisine, hospitality,and engaging activities. Guests enjoyed Qahwa (Arabic coffee), Karak (milk tea), footvolley, and the opportunity to try on the traditional Qatari Bisht.

His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and the Board of Director of Visit Qatar,expressed his satisfaction with the partnership and its contribution to fostering cross-cultural understanding during the tournament. He emphasized the positive feedback received from European fans, underscoring Qatar's dedication to creating memorable experiences for visitors.

Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, also highlighted the success of the activations, emphasizing their effectiveness in showcasing Qatar's rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality to a global audience.

Strategic Marketing Initiatives

Beyond the on-ground activations, Visit Qatar employed a multi-channel marketing approach to further promote Qatar as a premier travel destination. A high-profile media campaign featuring the UEFA EURO 2024™ trophy showcased the 'Stopover in Qatar' initiative, encouraging travelers to explore the country during layovers or short stays. This campaign achieved significant reach, broadcasting across 49 media channels in key European markets.

Visit Qatar also partnered with COPA90, a leading football platform, to create compelling content highlighting Qatar's attractions and experiences. This collaboration leveraged the influence of key football personalities, including legend Rio Ferdinand, to further promote Qatar's appeal.

Enhanced Fan Engagement

Visit Qatar's commitment to engaging fans was evident through a series of ticket giveaways tied to UEFA EURO 2024™ matches, providing over 30 lucky winners with the opportunity to attend games. As the Presenting Partner of EURO 2024 Fantasy Football, Visit Qatar also significantly increased the tournament's digital engagement, with almost 3.7 million fans participating. The grand prize winner was awarded a trip for two to Qatar.

Qatar's Growing Sporting Legacy

The success of Visit Qatar's activations at EURO 2024™ underscores the country's continued dedication to hosting world-class sporting events. With preparations underway for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2030 Asian Games, Qatar is positioning itself as a global hub for sports and tourism.
