Bodenmaiser Wanderwoche: A Week of Pure Hiking Joy
Guided hikes through spring landscapes
From May 19 to 24, hikers can explore blooming spring forests and breathtaking mountain views during the Bodenmaiser Wanderwoche. Each day from Monday to Saturday, multiple guided hikes led by friendly local experts will be available. Visitors can book their accommodation of choice in Bodenmais and participate in the hikes free of charge.
Seven Summits Bodenmais: The Ultimate Hut-to-Hut Experience
A 47-kilometer challenge over two days
The "Seven Summits Bodenmais" tour is one of the region’s most challenging and scenic hikes. Spanning 47 kilometers and 1,860 meters in elevation, this two-day trek includes natural landmarks and traditional mountain huts. Upcoming tours take place on June 27–28 and September 12–13, 2025.
Panoramic peaks and rustic charm
Starting early at the Bodenmais Tourist Information Center, hikers conquer peaks such as Kronberg and Harlachberg, with panoramic views and a stop at the GutsAlm Harlachberg. The route continues to the Kleiner Arber and on to the Chamer Hütte for an overnight stay.
Summit the Great Arber and return via scenic trails
On day two, participants ascend the 1,456-meter-high Großer Arber, then journey through Bretterschachten, Hochzell, and finally to the iconic Silberberg for a last refreshment break before ending back in Bodenmais.
Die Herausforderung: The Ultimate Hiking Event
40 kilometers, 1,600 meters of elevation, and unforgettable moments
Mark your calendar for July 12, 2025: “Die Herausforderung” offers a full-day hiking adventure spanning 40 kilometers and 1,600 meters of elevation gain. The route leads from Silberberg through Schönebene and Bretterschachten to the picturesque Großer Arbersee.
From peak to celebration
After summiting the Großer Arber, hikers take a break at the Chamer Hütte before continuing over the Kleiner Arber, Enzian, and Heugstatt, eventually returning to Bodenmais. The journey ends with "Gnock im Park" at the Brunnenhof – a festive gathering with regional specialties and live music.
