BYD Solidifies Global Commitment to Sustainable Logistics with Historic Arrival of EXPLORER NO.1 in Brazil

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – July 13, 2024 – In a significant step towards a greener future, BYD, the world's leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and power batteries, has successfully docked its dedicated roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) car carrier, the EXPLORER NO.1, at Brazil's Port of Suape. This marks the vessel's inaugural voyage to the Americas, underscoring BYD's commitment to sustainable and efficient international logistics.

The EXPLORER NO.1, a state-of-the-art vessel equipped with advanced navigation systems, completed a 27-day transcontinental journey from China, carrying the largest single shipment of cars ever received by the Port of Suape – 5,459 new energy vehicles. With a capacity to transport up to 7,000 vehicles and measuring 199.9 meters in length, the EXPLORER NO.1 significantly enhances BYD's ability to meet the escalating global demand for its innovative new energy vehicle models.

This remarkable growth trajectory has propelled BYD to the ninth position among all automotive manufacturers in Brazil, further cementing its position as a dominant force in the new energy vehicle sector.
