TRAVEL TALK 2022 - Call for Participation
From Friedrichshafen to Frankfurt. The bicycle tourism congress TRAVEL TALK gets a completely new appearance for the 21st edition. The thematic focus is to make bicycle tourism mainstream. As part of a Call For Participation, innovative projects at the interface of the bicycle and travel industry are being sought for the international EUROBIKE TRAVEL TALK on July 15, 2022.
The TRAVEL TALK is repositioning itself with the relocation of EUROBIKE from Friedrichshafen to Frankfurt. With the 21st edition of the TRAVEL TALK, the focus is on developing bicycle tourism from the niche into the social breadth.
When the TRAVEL TALK started 20 years ago in the Alpine region, it was the development from ski tourism to mountain biking in the Alps that triggered the revolution. At that time, the first regions switched from winter ski tourism to summer bike tourism. Now the TRAVEL TALK deals with the question - how can we sustainably promote bicycle tourism as a decelerated form of travel, but also as local mobility throughout the tourism regions?
Since 2002, the EUROBIKE TRAVEL TALK has brought together international representatives from the tourism sector and the bicycle industry as well as media and bloggers* at the world's leading trade fair for bicycles, EUROBIKE at Messe Friedrichshafen. The 21st edition of the bicycle tourism congress will take place for the first time in Frankfurt on 15.07.2022 at EUROBIKE as a platform for bicycle tourism.
Focus on bicycle tourism becomes mainstream
At this year's TRAVEL TALK, everything will revolve around the question of how cycle tourism can tap into new target groups beyond the previously convinced cyclists*. Infrastructure, accessible offers and easy digital bookings play a major role, as does the cooperation of the various regional players from the fields of tourism, regional development, sustainability and digitization. From which tourism regions, offers and service providers can best practices be derived, where do the players still have to put their finger in the wound? How can different target groups, for example luxury or sports segments, be developed for bicycle tourism? For this purpose, the TRAVEL TALK gathers essential innovations around the planning and accessibility of bicycle tours and new marketing approaches and dares to look into adjacent and important areas.
Submit bike tourism ideas
Through April 27, 2022, inspiring and innovative cycle tourism projects and ideas can be submitted as potential program items for this year's TRAVEL TALK through the Call For Participation. With the thematic focus "Out of the niche - into the mainstream", there will be interactive formats for the topics. The submitted topics can serve as impulse, pitch, panel, workshop or networking formats and will enable the organizers, EUROBIKE and the Berlin bicycle agency Velokonzept, to attract the widest possible variety for the professional audience from the bicycle and tourism industry.
